A Generative grammar assumes that speakers consciously apply explicit rules to produce sentences, in a way comparable to following written instructions step by step. 

B Generative grammar is defined as a probabilistic system that generates sentences primarily through the repetition of memorized linguistic fragments. 

C Generative grammar consists of an explicit, finite system of rules—comparable to an algorithm—that specifies how to generate all and only the grammatical sentences of a language, independently of a speaker’s unconscious linguistic competence. 

D Generative grammar and other grammatical models share the same underlying assumptions, differing only in the technical terminology used to describe sentence structure.
